Previously in our blog I stated that we were headed to Incheon, South Korea. Well... CHANGE of PLANS. We were actually informed that we are now headed to Jeollanam-do South Korea (which is about 6 hours south in the deep country side). So instead of being in a city the with the population of 2 million people we are now headed to the mountains and rice fields! Cory and I are both pretty 'go with the flow' type of people so now we are so excited to see what Gokseong County (in Jeolla) has for us! As of right now, we have no idea what to expect.
We know:
-we will be living together (plus!)
-we will be teaching elementary kids
-we leave October 29th for Orientation and Teaching starts on November 7th, 2011
-our apartment and airfare will be paid for by the corporation we are going through (Canadian Connection)
-we have signed a 1 year contract
We don't know:
-any Korean
-what our apartment will look like
-if our teachers we will be working with speak English
-if we will go through extreme culture shock
-if we will like the food (lots of fish and spicy foods)
However, the only way to explain our experience is that it will in fact... be AN EXPERIENCE. We are soooooo excited! No matter what, we will have stories to share for years and memories that will last a lifetime.
